Denver Birth Photographer: the peaceful mountain homebirth of Willa

I met Carey and David in the middle of their pregnancy. It was Carey's fourth pregnancy, but her husband's first. When Carey walked into the coffee shop, I was struck by her beauty. When we sat down to talk, I fell in love with her, David, and their family. There was so much joy, so much laughter, and so much eager anticipation for the little one that would be joining their family in November. Carey and David had originally planned on giving birth at Mountain Midwifery, but when they thought about making the drive from Evergreen, CO to the birth center in potentially snowy weather, they reconsidered. A home birth became the best choice for their family. 

Carey and David eagerly prepared for the birth of their baby. Their home in Evergreen is nestled beneath the mountains...such a beautiful place to call home...and they created a sacred and beautiful birth space to welcome their baby into the world. Although David had been convinced that they were having a girl from the very beginning, Carey didn't want to get her hopes up. Either way, they knew that this baby would be so very loved. 

Although Carey had gone into labor early with her other babies, baby Willa decided to wait until over 41 weeks to make her appearance. Just as they'd anticipated, she came on a snowy night...and quickly. Carey birthed with such beauty, such strength, and such joy. There is no doubt that Willa was welcomed into a room full of love and light on that cold November night.
