Denver Hospital Birth Photographer - the Birth of Adaline
One of the things I love about my job is that it's reconnects me to friends and acquaintances from so many different points in my life. Kim reached out to me when she discovered she was having a baby. We'd gone to college together briefly, and it was so fun to reconnect with her as we talked about her pregnancy and upcoming birth. Kim is also a photographer, and she knew how much she'd treasure having her own birth photographed. I was so honored she asked me to join them on their special day. Adaline's birth at Swedish Medical Center was so peaceful and powerful. The minute I walked into the room, I knew that Adaline would be welcomed with an abundance of love. From her name hanging on the window to the little booties Kim's mom was knitting...there was so much anticipation. Kim had planned on getting an epidural, which allowed her to rest and prepare for pushing. Her body labored beautifully. Her husband and mom were huge supports to Kim - making her laugh and offering her words of support. When it was time for Adaline to be born, Kim pushed with such strength. It didn't take long before her little girl came into the world and straight into her arms. You might notice the cord wrapped around Adaline's belly. We aren't sure how this happened, but rest assured...Adaline had no issues during her birth.
