Denver Birth Photography: the Birth of Emmarie
Third time births are always special. Many birth professionals lovingly refer to them as "wild cards." I met Hilary when she participated in the Breastfeeding Project through cord. I immediately connected with her and her family (who hails from PA...where my husband was born) and I was so excited when they asked me to photograph their upcoming birth.
After two boys, everyone was thrilled to discover Hilary was expecting a little girl. As the weeks drew closer to her due date, sweet Emmarie gave her mama several false alarms. Finally, on a warm May evening, she decided it was time to make her entrance into the world.
Hilary labored with such grace...while her boys slept quietly in the room next door.
Emmarie's birth would have been special no matter what...but this sweet girl came out in the caul (which means her amniotic sac was still intact). This rare occurence was such a beautiful sight to behold, and I'm so happy I was able to capture it for Hilary and her family to see for years to come.
