Denver Birth Photographer: the Homebirth of Luke

Sarah texted me on Sunday morning. A fifth time mom, she knew labor when it started. "Contractions just began and they are two minutes apart."

Yikes! I knew we had a precipitate birth on our hands.

Thankfully, Jennifer Mason, my dear friend and back-up birth photographer was closer to Sarah's home than I was. When I got stuck in a traffic accident, I called her and asked if she'd be willing to race over to Sarah's home. She got there just in time...and then I arrived about ten minutes after baby was born and we both photographed those first few hours together.

Baby Luke was born peacefully in the water. Sarah's labor was a little under two hours from first contraction to babe in arms.

Luke was born into a loving family, with four older siblings to dote on him. And of course, Sarah was a picture of beauty and grace...
