A Powerful Baby + Co Birth in Denver, Colorado

Adrienne had a history of a fast birth, so when she texted me on a Friday morning with the news that her water had broke...I jumped out of bed, grabbed my camera bags, and waited for her to tell me it was time to join them at Baby + Co. Adrienne was expecting her third baby...and after two boys, we all wondered if they'd welcome a girl into their family. I LOVE when parents decide to wait to find out the sex of their baby. It's a choice I wasn't strong enough to make for my own births, but it's so much fun to capture! 

Contractions didn't get intense at home, but Adrienne and Skylar drove into Baby + Co because they knew that third babies were often called "wild cards" for good reason. They didn't want to have to fight through rush hour traffic in Denver during transition. 

Because her water had broke, this sweet baby needed to come earthside. The midwives offered Adrienne many different suggestions of things they could do to get labor to start naturally. Adrienne spent the day on the breast pump, walking the halls, taking herbs, and finally some castor oil to get labor going. And once it got going...well things moved very quickly. Adrienne's contractions came on strong and before long we were pushing out her baby on the birth stool. 

It took Adrienne and Skylar a few minutes to process what had happened once their baby was in their arms...and so you can imagine their shock and joy when they looked down to discover they'd just had a baby GIRL. (And in one of the BW photos, you'll see Adrienne's dad react to the news that he has a granddaughter....LOVE IT!) I just adored working with Adrienne and her family. I loved working with the midwives at Baby + Co. (And how special that little Aria was born in the same room that my own daughter, Eliza, was!)
