Denver Birth Photographer - the Powerful and Peaceful Birth of Memphis

Whenever I get an inquiry from a client at Mountain Midwifery Center, my heart skips a beat. There are so many things I love about this birthing space. It's the oldest birthing center in Colorado, and has paved the way for so many of the other wonderful birth centers we now have across the front range. I'm friends with many of the incredible midwives that work there, and I've had the honor to photograph several staff members' births. When Katie reached out about photographing her birth at Mountain Midwifery, I wanted to jump up and down. Not only was Katie the sweetest mom-to-be, but her husband was SO supportive and excited about having their first baby together. This stunning birth was attended by one of my favorite doulas in Denver too - Robyn Huffman.  As you'll see from these images, Katie was surrounded by incredible support, and she worked with such strength to bring her baby girl into the world. Baby Memphis was posterior (her face was facing front rather than behind) which meant Katie had to work extra hard to push her out. She did...and it was incredibly to witness.
