Denver Birth Photographer - the Birth of Lana at the University of Colorado
I got the call early on my birthday - Bianca's water had broke and it was time to have a baby! Sweet Lana had decided she wanted to arrive almost a month earlier than we expected her to...but everyone was beyond excited to welcome her into the world. Denver was covered in ice and snow that morning, which made the drive out to the University of Colorado a lot more stressful than usual. Birth photographers don't get snow days...in fact, it's the bad weather that often brings babies out! When I finally arrived at the hospital, I found Bianca laboring through strong and consistent contractions. She worked through them beautifully, with the support of her sweet husband and family nearby. After several hours, she decided to get an epidural, which allowed her to rest and prepare for pushing. Later that evening, it was time for Lana's arrival...she came out with a head full of dark hair and big, beautiful eyes that couldn't stop staring at her mama and papa. I loved celebrating my birthday at this birth...I couldn't have asked for a better gift than seeing new life enter our world.
