Colorado Springs Birth Photography: the Birth of Ana-Ximena

I met Rachel when I photographed her for the breastfeeding project in 2014. She had two beautiful children, who are fluent in both English and Spanish, and a fierce love of breastfeeding, birth, and natural parenting (it was evident from the start that we'd be fast friends!)

After our breastfeeding shoot, Rachel let me know she was pregnant. She asked me if I was interested in photographing her birth, and I started counting down the months to her big day.

Rachel's contractions started on the 18th. They were mild for most of the day, but started to increase in intensity towards the evening. She checked into the hospital and called to tell me she was at seven centimeters dilated! When I arrived, Rachel was still laughing and talking with her family. Her birthing space brimmed with joy and peace, and it was such a delight to capture it all.
