Denver Homebirth Photographer: the Beautiful Colorado Homebirth of Olivia
Jocelyn and I met early in her pregnancy. Her older sister joined us, and we sat together and talked about the wonder that was birth. This was going to be Jocelyn's first birth, and yet she exuded a confidence that I often only seen in mother's who have given birth several times. She knew what she wanted for herself, for her baby, and for her family. Her older sister and I shared our own stories about birth: positive, uplifting stories. I left with the sense that Jocelyn was going to have an incredible experience. She was so clearly surrounded with support and a deep sense of what she wanted.
Jocelyn texted me to let me know contractions were starting. I then took up communicating with her older sister so that Jocelyn could focus. After several hours, it was apparent that I needed to head towards their home. Jocelyn had decided she wanted a homebirth and was working with Tara Stephens, an amazing midwife.
Jocelyn's mom, sister, and husband never left her side. They swallowed her up with support as she worked to birth her baby. It was a beautiful and breathtaking scene to behold.
